No. All services are provided at the client's location.
What is your service area?
Most of my regular clients are within a five mile radius of downtown Luray. To continue to provide everyone with the best service, I try to keep all of my assignments within that same radius. However, I'm occasionally able to provide service up to 10 miles away, depending on the date/location.
I think I might be interested in hiring you as a pet sitter. What's the process?
First, call or text 540-890-0504. This is a message service line that forwards calls and texts to me. Since my phone doesn't actually ring, you're welcome to call this line at any time, day or night.
Leave basic information such as your full name, contact number, address (or at least general location), types and number of pets and dates you might need.
I typically return calls within 48 hours. Sometimes "phone tag" is involved. :)
When we speak, I'll get more information about what you need and tell you more about my services.
If we agree to work together, I provide a no-obligation / no-charge meet and greet at your home. This allows us to meet, for you to observe how I interact with your pets. During this meeting, I'll also bring a short questionnaire in preparation of the assignment (pet names, feeding instructions, etc.). Again, this meeting is "no obligation!"
If the meeting is far in advance of the actual assignment, I'll return for one more quick visit a week before the assignment so your pets can again see me and I can pick up a key.
I will text the day before the start of the assignment to confirm. I will also text when I'm there each day to provide updates and/or photos.
Payment is due in advance of assignments. However, for new clients, payment is not due until the completion of the first assignment. This assures that everything is done to the client's satisfaction.
What payment types do you accept?
I accept PayPal, Venmo, cash or check.
Do you provide grooming services?
Aside from light brushing, I do not provide grooming services.
My dogs don't get along and have to be separated during meal time and outside time. OR - my large dog can get aggressive and we've never left him with anyone. Can you help?
Unfortunately, no. Especially anxious or very aggressive pets can be unpredictable when owners are suddenly not there. For everyone's safety, these types of pets are better suited to full-time kennel care.
Do you provide any cleaning or laundry services?
Before clients leave, I ask them to leave out any preferred cleaning solutions (for pet accidents, to clean counters, etc.). Upon return, the home looks the same or better than when the client left it. However, I'm unable to provide additional cleaning or laundry service (such as washing dog blankets).
I've never used your service, but I need a dog sitter tomorrow. Can you help?
Unfortunately, no. While I'm able to provide last-minute services to existing clients, my schedule is often booked months in advance. Also, for new clients, it's best that the pets meet me first, and I get instructions and any info needed about the pets and/or house.
We're going to be in town to visit the Caverns, and we need someone to watch our dog for an hour. Can you assist?
Again, unfortunately, no. I do not have boarding or kennel facilities. Also, handing a dog over to a stranger in a strange vehicle can cause undue stress on most pets. I'm only able to provide services to those with permanent Luray addresses.
Is Tracy's Pet Sitting on social media?
Yes and no. There are Tracy's Pet Sitting accounts on both Facebook and Instagram but due to a recent hacking experience, Tracy lost access to the accounts for six months.
Owner access has been restored, but the platform has become overrun with bots and scammers. Unless there's a major change in service or a new phone number, the Tracy's Pet Sitting social media accounts will no longer be updated.
Do you have any associates or are you hiring?
Tracy's Pet Sitting, LLC is a one-person operation. :)
